Meet Alyssa Orito of Aly Ann Events in Point Loma

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alyssa Orito.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I developed a love for weddings after being enthralled with the infamous Hotel del Coronado. After vacationing there each Summer when I was a little girl, I became fascinated by the architectural design. The classic details throughout the property created a timeless background for a wedding. During my time in college, I had the opportunity to serve as an assistant for a reputable wedding planning company, as well as gain first-hand experience at the Hotel del Coronado. My love for the wedding industry blossomed.

Soon after graduating from Point Loma Nazarene University, I transitioned into the finance industry to expose myself to my undergraduate major. I spent three years specializing in finance at a private equity firm and attaining my MBA. During that period, I realized that weddings were my first love and primary passion. With nearly five years of planning experience, I am attentive to detail and delighted to help my clients plan their special day. I look forward to ensuring that my Bride and Groom experience nothing short of a fairytale.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Although I absolutely love what I do, it has not always been easy. My entrepreneurial spirit has kept me going. As a business owner, there is a steep learning curve regarding the legalities, management, and organizational role I play. Additionally, I have struggled to create short and long-term goals that I sincerely believe are achievable. However, I am so thankful for the amazing team of professionals, friends, and family who have not only built my confidence but supported Aly Ann Events from the beginning.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Aly Ann Events story. Tell us more about the business.
Aly Ann Events, located in the San Diego, CA area, is primarily a wedding planning company, offering month-of and custom full-service coordination packages. We are venturing into event design and offer rough sketches of our client’s wedding vision. Additionally, we consult brides on their vendor teams and in many ways, act as their industry concierge.

Although Aly Ann Events is fairly new, we have over five years of experience in the wedding industry. We have previously designed fabulous events across San Diego county, especially at the Hotel del Coronado. We resource our MBA and Finance degrees to stay organized and respectful of our client’s wedding vision and their budget.

We provide a variety of services and can serve as your party planner, wedding planning, engagement planner, birthday planner, and much more. We have the skill and experience necessary to serve as your full-service event planning company, offering the highest quality services and customer care in the San Diego area.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I would not necessarily credit luck to either my success or failure as a business owner.
