Meet Ann Vestal

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ann Vestal.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
Photography has always been something I’ve loved. Specifically, photos of people. I have always loved the how photos can capture a memory and how you are able to go back and look at a photo and remember where you were, who was there, what was happening, how you felt, so on and so forth. Just over a year ago I decided to get over my fear of what people would think and decided I wanted to share my love for photography and capture these memories for others.

It’s been a whirlwind of learning about having your own business, learning new techniques, connecting with people, and capturing the members but I wouldn’t change a thing. I absolutely love having the opportunity to bring joy to others lives and I can’t wait to continue my journey and hopefully do more and more!

Please tell us about your art.
I always want my photos to bring joy and happiness to others. I not only want to be able to help people document their memories but also to have them love themselves in the photos. I want people to see a photo and want to look at it for hours because of the joy it gives them. I don’t usually like to pose my subjects too much. I would rather catch the candid moments. Those are the moments I feel like everyone wishes they had a snapshot of time to time to look back on.

Times when someone is looking at you the way you hope they always do but you aren’t entirely sure because no one is always there to catch that look for you. Or the pure joy on a child’s face when they burst into laughter. A fleeting moment that is so precious but goes away all too fast. I’m there to capture that moment to be looked back on for years to come. All and all my inspiration is happiness and I hope, not only for my clients but also anyone that sees my photos, that the photos bring them joy.

We often hear from artists that being an artist can be lonely. Any advice for those looking to connect with other artists?
I use Honeybook to connect with other photographers and it’s been extremely helpful! I highly recommend any photographers out there to use it to connect.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
People can see my work on my Instagram or they are able to see more on my website as well. I am available for hire for weddings, engagements, family sessions, portrait sessions, boudoir, and maternity photos.
