Meet Annie Poore of HVN Design in El Cajon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Annie Poore.

Thanks for sharing your story with us, Annie. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My mom (Ronna) and I have always shared a love for interior design. My mom was in interior design school while pregnant with me but her life as a mom and running a business with my dad prevented her from pursuing it as a career. However, she continued to use her skills as she remodeled and built her own homes and businesses. After I finished design school, we sat down over a glass of wine and decided to make the jump and start our own interior design business. Now we serve clients all over the map and enjoy working together doing what we love. Our clients come mainly from word of mouth and we currently have clients as far as Las Vegas.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I don’t believe there is a perfectly smooth road but our journey has been surprisingly simple. Some of the challenges, in the beginning, were all the start-up processes such as finding the right platforms to use, the best marketing, and the most reliable sources.

Please tell us more about your work. What do you guys do? What do you specialize in? What sets you apart from competition?
We specialize in residential design. We are focused on creating and designing spaces that are both incredibly practical and beautiful to perfectly fit our clients’ needs and budgets. We are most proud of our ability to listen to what our clients are saying and give them what they don’t know they need.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Our goal is to continue to increase our client base, further our education in our field and to one day obtain our general contractor’s license.

  • Pricing is job specific but we typically start with a consult that is 2 hrs long for $200.
