Meet Autumn Houston of Autumn Houston The Salon in Little Italy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Autumn Houston.

Autumn, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I opened my salon in the summer of 2012 at 25 years old. I had been a hairstylist since 2005. I worked hard through multiple salons grasping every piece of information I could to perfect my craft. I always tried to surround myself with hairstylists that were more successful than me who I wanted to be like. I took every client that sat in my chair no matter the day or time. After building a large clientele, I was able to open my salon. I have helped multiple stylists in our industry open their own salons after coaching them while working at my salon. My true passion now is helping other stylists learn and grow to become successful.

Has it been a smooth road?
There were absolute bumps along the road! No one showed me how to open a hair salon. I had to figure it all out as I went along the way. I was able to learn and grow in the process. Each breakdown was an opportunity for a breakthrough.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Autumn Houston The Salon – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I do hair. I specialize in blonde hair and hair extensions. I am known for creating customized blonde looks that last. Clients are able to maintain their healthy hair while growing it long wear gorgeous hair extensions. What sets us apart is awe truly customize each of our clients looks to fit their lifestyle and personality. I am most proud of the successful hairstylists I have shaped and molded.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love that our city has so much to offer in such a close proximity. Little Italy has grown tremendously in the 6 years I have owned my salon. I love all of the other small business owners and our collaborations. I would love to see more parking in Little Italy if I had to say something I like least, but that comes with being in a great city.
