Meet Bill Brennan and Omar Perez Landeros of Unlimited Controls and Instrumentation in Kearny Mesa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bill Brennan and Omar Perez Landeros.

Bill and Omar, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Unlimited Controls was founded in June of 2015. Omar Perez and myself (Bill), have a high level of technical expertise developed thru years in the Controls & Instrumentation business. After working for 2 other companies we decided to strike out on our own. Because of our long term relationships with major manufacturers in our industry we were able to obtain authorized distributorships with companies like Honeywell, Siemens Building Technologies, Schneider Electric Buildings, to name a few. Many with one phone call.

Has it been a smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road. We were able to obtain some startup capital thru the SBA and some private sources which helped a bunch. Personally we both had to take substantial pay cuts, and that pain and suffering continues. There was a lot we were not familiar with, many processes that as sales engineers we were not well versed at. We’ve had to reach out to professionals for some help and advice in areas of accounting and bookkeeping, and other areas of business management, including legal counsel.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Unlimited Controls and Instrumentation – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We are Authorized Distributors for HVAC (Heating, ventilating & air conditioning) controls, Commercial & Industrial Combustion Controls , and Process Controls and Instrumentation.

We are known as a company with excellent engineering expertise, especially in the area of combustion control. What sets us apart from the competition is our high level of experience & expertise with a wide range of control applications. Our focus markets include commercial buildings, pharmaceuticals, heat treaters, manufacturers as well as the local craft brewery market. We are responsive, and we are never greedy!

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
The best thing about San Diego, business wise, is the nature of the market. San Diego is forward thinking. We are technically savvy as a city. We are willing to experiment with new, sometimes unproven technology especially when it comes to energy saving / green technologies. Over the last 20 years I have seen many changes in the way things are done. San Diego is a test market for much of it.

What do I like least? Like everybody else, the commute!
