Meet Breeanne Macouzet of Mindfully Evolve in North County

Today we’d like to introduce you to Breeanne Macouzet.

Breeanne, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Why Mindfully Evolve, and my life’s work is consistently having life-changing and long term results on so many children, parents, and teachers over the past few years is the result of a real story.

My story started when I was a little girl with an innate feeling of wonder and love with a painful yearning for meaningful connection. I grew up in Southern California with three other younger siblings and teenage parents that were doing the very best they could.

The household that I grew up in was chaos, with an alcoholic parent and abusive behaviors that negatively impacted my social connections, academic scores, and self-image. Being a teenager is difficult enough trying to establish your identity, and I struggled to find the self-love and positive mindset I needed as an antidote for my depression and anxiety.

When I was 20 years old, I went the unconventional route of schooling and found a holistic lifestyle approach at the International Professional School of Bodywork receiving my Associates in Holistic Science. Shortly after I discovered Yoga that healed my negative and anxious mindset, helped me regulate my emotions and connected me with a greater power inside myself.

This greater power inside of myself was my spirit that felt like it had been sleeping for years. After teaching Yoga and working with clients for six years, I knew that I had to share more as a teacher to inspire other spirits to awaken to their fullest potential. I created Mindfully Evolve as a source for families and schools to educate themselves on the principles of personal development, self-love, and mindfulness.

My dream is to have all families and schools have a life-long skill set that can positively transform their relationship with themselves and others. I believe in the power of mindfulness and how that can create a positive ripple effect on our planet, one relationship at a time.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of the greatest challenges we have overcome is breaking barriers and preconceived ideas to fully onboard mindfulness programs into the San Diego Unified School District. It takes a lot of persistence to assure School administrators that they need to educate their students with the tools on how to focus instead of telling their students to focus with no tools.

In today’s mass-distraction world, children also need the tools to self- regulate their emotions so they can succeed academically and personally in life. When working with families one of the challenges is that often times there is one spouse or family member that doesn’t understand the value or the high return of investment in mindfulness coaching and education.

For mothers and fathers who take an interest in healing their mind through mindfulness to become better parents, there is often a consideration of how much time it will take to learn these new practices. This is where the challenge lies in creating a new paradigm for parents to integrate mindfulness into their daily lives in a fun and interesting way. After that heavy lifting, the results speak for themselves.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Mindfully Evolve – what should we know?
Mindfully Evolve is an innovative approach to mindfulness-based on practical tools for thriving in today’s world. On a deeper level, the practices endorsed and trained by Mindfully Evolve work to heal the mind. Our programs are designed for the specific needs of the children, teachers, and parents.

We provide an online Live Mindfully course as an in-depth introduction to mindfulness. We also work directly with clients in a workshop setting as well as one on one by application only.

I am most proud of the real and impactful results parents, and teachers are having on our youth because of our training. What sets us apart from other mindfulness organizations is that we are living the work in our personal lives and sharing the practical tools with others on how to integrate mindfulness into their everyday life.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Resilience is a quality that we teach others, and we believe in the power of overcoming hardships, and reframing challenging circumstances in our life as lessons to evolve from. This will be the magic to our success!
