Meet Brenna Gebauer of Quigley Fine Wines

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brenna Gebauer.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Brenna. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My journey into wine started with travel. Upon graduating college I traveled through Europe and discovered that wine was such an ingrained part of their history and culture.

When I came back to California I found a position with a company in Orange County. I had no idea that I was embarking on a career and passion. When you can have a profession that allows you to be passionate about what you do it makes work and life something so much easier to be excited about. I get to tell the story of the winemakers and what they want to convey in their art to people that want to connect to what they are experiencing in a glass.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I consider this career like a road trip. It’s the journey that shows you so many things that you didn’t know you would love. As with anything there has been ups and downs but I’m still here because its worth it. The industry is always shifting. The internet has become one of the biggest competitors but a huge part of what we develop is relationships with individuals that are looking for personalized access and the ability to work with someone that helps them explore the wine world in a way you would never find otherwise.

Quigley Fine Wines – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
What we provide at Quigley Fine Wines is a resource to access the best small production wines from all over the world that don’t make it to the general market because of the limited production. Our focus is to translate the story of the vineyard into the glass and make the idea of exploring the world of wine accessible.

If you have ever traveled and experienced wine there is a connection to that moment and experience that you don’t find buying off a shelf. Every bottle has a story. Every winemaker has a signature. Knowing how to navigate the wine world is tricky. We strive to make sure every time you open a new bottle you have the best possible experience.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
My pillow test is one of my daily markers for success in business but also life. Did I do all I could for the greater good? At this point in my career, it is about helping others build theirs. Setting goals and accomplishing them is huge for me but watching my employees in their careers achieve milestones makes it worthwhile to put in the time and effort required.
