Meet Brooke Joanna Benlifer

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brooke Joanna Benlifer.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I moved from NY to CA in 2002 and began working clinically in the Scripps Hospital system and later also at Rady’s Children’s Hospital in Hematology/Oncology through an Integrative Medicine program.

Soon after I moved to CA, I opened my nutrition counseling & consulting practice, to fulfill a growing need I saw for true, personalized care and coaching. I guide clients through every step of the process of creating a healthy and balanced life, from grocery shopping and cooking to making time for joyful and purposeful movement on a daily basis.

I am a dietitian with an integrative focus, “food as medicine” philosophy, and I celebrate the pleasure of eating for enjoyment and using intuition to guide food choices. I am also an ACE Certified Personal Trainer and Youth Fitness Specialist, and absolutely love helping clients reach their wellness goals, feeling stronger and more confident.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
My biggest challenge now is balancing passion for my work with taking care of my pre-school age twins, whom I love spending time with!

So, as you know, we’re impressed with – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I travel to clients’ homes, and after getting a thorough nutritional history, I help them navigate their favorite grocery store, tailoring a comprehensive, individualized game plan full of foods that will help them thrive.

I also counsel clients extensively around topics such as emotional eating and binge eating, giving them ways to be mindful around food and eat intuitively. I work with families and individuals of all ages.

Areas of expertise include fat loss, Ketogenic, and Paleo eating approaches, blood sugar and hormonal balance, stress management, food allergies, gut health and the microbiome, Ayurveda and sports nutrition.

I am deeply invested in helping my clients feel their best and reach their health and fitness goals. Self-care, attention to detail and personalizing my approach to the individual sets me apart from others.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I plan to host wellness retreats!
