Meet Catherine Rollins of The Solis Team Real Estate

Today we’d like to introduce you to Catherine Rollins.

Hi Catherine, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
The story that led me to become a Realtor is full of twists and turns that I believe were all pivotal stepping stones in my journey to find a career that truly gives me so much joy. I grew up in a small town in California called Apple Valley and usually, I describe it to people as, “The place you stop on your way to Las Vegas.” I really have such an appreciation for growing up there. There wasn’t much to do there, so growing up we had to be creative and find our own ways to have fun. One of my favorite things to do was to discover new ways to participate in my community by volunteering and helping others.

When I got to college, the classes I took really expanded my mind and gave me a new perspective on life and people. My love for hearing people’s stories is what led me to become interested in social media. I worked for a company that produced live social media content for non-profits that gave people a voice and amplified their stories online. After leaving that company, I got a job at a publishing company creating social media content for over seven million followers collectively.

My love for social media grew, but I began missing the human connection you feel when working with people in real life. I started thinking about careers where I could utilize my social media skills while also fulfilling my desire to work with others and provide real value to those around me. When I started telling my family and friends that I was going to get my real estate license, their reaction was, “Oh my gosh – you are going to be GREAT at that!” To hear that from the people who know me best felt like I was doing the right thing. Now that I’m a Realtor, I’ve realized how it’s so much more than just a sales transaction. Being able to help people find a home is truly an honor. It’s a big responsibility to be the person somebody puts their trust in – and I couldn’t be more grateful to walk with my clients through one of the most important decisions of their lives.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life was not easy for me. I always had 100 ideas in my head of careers I thought I could be good at. Now that I’m a bit older, I wish I wouldn’t have been so hard on myself about trying to find that “one thing”. It’s okay to not know what you want to do and it’s ok to change your mind. My advice to anyone young is to try EVERYTHING so that you can feel confident in the career you choose.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Realtor with an amazing team based out of Oceanside. The Solis Team is more than just a real estate company. They are a family. When I first met with my team leader, Mike Solis, I knew I had hit the real estate team jackpot. The way he talked about his clients was like he was talking about his best friends. You could tell he cared more about making real connections with people rather than just putting together a sales transaction. We actually barely talked about real estate when we met. He just wanted to get to know me and find out what kind of person I am. I really appreciated his authentic style of business and desire to build relationships with everyone he came into contact with.

What sets us apart is that our office is in the heart of Oceanside. This is our home base, where we brainstorm how to provide the most memorable experience for every single one of our clients. So, if you’re ever in the Oceanside area, please don’t hesitate to drop in! Our address is 206 N Freeman St, Oceanside, CA 92054.

Any big plans?
I’m looking forward to making a real name for myself in San Diego. I want people to know me as more than just a Realtor – but as someone who really cares about them, their family and their goals.
