Today we’d like to introduce you to Charlie Boghosian.
Charlie, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started selling food at county fairs in the early 90’s and when I invented Fried Oreo’s it changed my life. After that invention, people would ask what’s next. so I gave it to them over the years. Fried Kool-Aid, Krispy Kreme Chicken Sandwich, Fried Bacon Pickle, Chicken IN THE Waffle, Deep Fried Cereal, Deep Fried Avocados, Peanut Butter Meat Balls, Deep Fried Filet Mignon, Just to name a few. I used to only do county fairs across America, but now I have a restaurant in Rancho Bernardo and I use it as my test kitchen for my new inventions for the fairs.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It’s been a beautiful road but not a smooth one that’s for sure. Growing up as a first generation American had its challenges, and whenever tough came to me, I always ran away to the kitchen to cook. I don’t understand it but I find solace in cooking.

Chicken Charlie’s is known for serving amazing concoctions at county fairs, people have called me the fry guy or the fry king. Conan O’Brien called me the fry King on the Tonight Show when I fried his glasses😀.

I have been blessed with an amazing team, it starts with my mom who taught me how to cook, my wife my brother and many team members that make chicken Charlie’s, I called them the chicken mafia.
