Meet Bianca Brown of Chosen-daughters

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bianca Brown.

Bianca, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Well, I’ve always enjoyed writing since I was a child. I had various notebooks that I would just write ideas and my thoughts in all the time. I was an only child for many years, 11 years specifically so, it was a great outlet for me! There came a point I considered maybe I can create fun scripts and do broadcast in my high school but quickly dismissed the thought. Last year around December 2018, I felt God telling me to start a blog and I did just that. I’ve always been known to encourage others and I wanted to do that for many women and just be a friend to them! A friend that can encourage and speak God’s love to those places in their heart that they think nobody understands! There’s been so many times in my life we’re I suffered from loneliness and feeling misunderstood and I still do some days, but I really wanted to be that help for other women and God knew that. During the process of creating my blog I had to watch a few YouTube videos to understand how to create a site and also asked a friend of mine for some advice, @martina.samantha_ since she’s a writer as well. I created the site in about a week or two; it took a lot of tears, determination, time and prayer to finish making the site. It was very stressful for me because I’m very critical of my work but I wanted to make sure the layout in my mind came through and I love the way it turned out! I still go on their somedays and I’m just amazed that I can physically see one of the many ideas God has placed on my heart. It’s been 2 months so far and I’m humbled to know the hearts that have been touched through my blog.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Ha easy, definitely not! Going into it I thought it would be easy since I’m just writing and posting, but it wasn’t. A few struggles I had was first making sure I found the perfect domain, which I thought would be easy but there’re ton of options. Then the financial part of paying for the domain, web hosting, and email marketing was a struggle since I don’t work but it worked out, of course. During the time I was purchasing my domain of choice they were having a sale and it took about 40-60% off, so that was perfect! The main struggle was really my mind and my perception of vulnerability. I wanted to help others but that required a deeper level of vulnerability which wasn’t something I was used to so, I had many anxiety attacks along the way. Also, time management was one and still is one while being a full-time college student; finding time to write is hard most days but I try my best to make sure it gets done.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Chosen-daughters story. Tell us more about the business.
My company is a blog with a sole focus on encouraging women in their walk with God, whether that be through my personal testimonies, fashion, and health. It’s fairly new so it’s still developing but, I have a passion for making sure people especially women don’t walk around feeling lost, discouraged, and hopeless because it’s so easy to do in today’s society. To add, I want women to know they’re loved by God, know their value and know they aren’t alone in this life! I’m very into fashion and I’m frequently asked where I purchased an item so, I want to share more of my style with others through my blog. I’m also a big planner and always open to trying new things and going to new places so, I would love to share how I do that without paying tons of money. Eventually, I want to make and sell my own design of decorative journals and prayer journals, and so much more on my site. I see my site turning into lifestyle with faith as the foundation of it all, can’t wait to see what the future holds for Chosen-daughters!

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I don’t personally believe in the term luck, I believe in blessings and favor. However, I’ve been blessed to even start a blog! Being able to have women feel comfortable opening up to me has been a blessing. I’ve even had males who read my blog and find it inspiring, and that’s a major blessing, I want to help anyone I can. In my life I haven’t always felt blessed or drenched with good luck per say, because it’s easy to look at what’s missing than what you already have; but I’ve been blessed to just be alive and share my faith and my stories. Life will present good and bad circumstances so it’s up to me whether I will allow that to spill into my business. Nonetheless, the good and bad experiences add to my life story and then I can share how God helped me defeat that obstacle or embrace the obstacle. Through that I can share them with someone else who may be going through the same thing or something similar.
