Meet Christelle Lerryn of Love Heroes Apparel

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christelle Lerryn.

Christelle, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
In 2017, I walked away from an abusive relationship. I left with my kids and not much more. Thankfully, we had somewhere to go. Family opened their door to us. We began to heal. We began to dream. We began to remember old dreams. In the midst of Covid-19 and lockdown, my boys and I (now 22. 20, and 14) decided to take a risk. We decided to jump into the launching of our clothing line. We asked the hard questions and became ok with knowing we will make mistakes. Possibly fail.

But, what if we didn’t? And at the very least, we decided to open ourselves up to the opportunity to learn from our new venture. Thus, we launched Love Heroes Apparel. Our Mission: To develop a line that creates a space for our community to wear positive messages while giving back to an organization that supports victims of domestic violence. Our Vision: To create an ethical model of Love, Kindness, and Community within our business practices. Our Hope: To invite our community to join us in practicing the virtues of love and kindness as we work together toward a common good. For every purchase made, we will donate $1 to an organization near and dear to our heart. In fact, we are looking for partnerships and would love to hear from you!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Our biggest challenge was in overcoming hopelessness. In an instant, we chose to believe in hope as we stepped away from the known into the unknown. We walked away from abuse without a penny to our name. We are healing. We are learning. We are growing. We are establishing beautiful friendships every step of the way. Currently, we are in the launch season for our business. We have been blessed and encouraged by the support of so many friends and family.

Love Heroes Apparel – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We have launched a clothing brand that allows our community to share positive messages with the world. We believe that we need more positive messages. We believe that humans are kind and awesome and wonderful. We believe that together, as a community and a unified effort we can bring about better. We are looking to partner with organizations that support and empower victims of domestic abuse.

Further, I am available to speak about my experiences with mental health, domestic abuse, issues that matter to the hearts of women, and the power of hope in the midst of our stories. I have also written a children’s book that will launch before the end of the year and look forward to reading the story with friends worldwide. Finally, I am both the host and cohost of two LIVE shows that allow our international guests to share their stories.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
I grew up in San Diego. My favorite memories are of my family and I camping at campgrounds within the county! I have fond memories of camping at William Heise National Park and Paso Picacho Campground.
