Meet Courtney Tibbets of After the Engagement in Escondido

Today we’d like to introduce you to Courtney Tibbets.

Courtney, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I planned by own wedding in 2007 and hired a wedding coordinator. After the wedding, I thought it was something I could do and decided to explore it more in 2008. The business snowballed while doing “day of coordination” and we are now based in both San Diego and Palm Springs and provide month of coordination, partial planning and full service planning for brides and grooms who desire a great party and guest experience.

Has it been a smooth road?
It has been a really smooth road! There are always some struggles when dealing with people who are in a stressful time in their lives, but my clients tend to be really artistic, calm and fun people.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
We specialize in creative, unique and super fun weddings- giant dance parties with great food and drinks. I try to capture the misfit audience- those who don’t feel they fit in the pretty crystal box that most weddings are. I am most proud of the fact that I rarely deal with a Bridezilla because we just don’t attract them.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Absolutely. Weddings in San Diego will always be a thing! We have great weather, making it pretty easy.
