Meet Daniel Cervantes of C&C Overhead Doors in Chula Vista

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Cervantes.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
In 2007, I was introduced to the garage door & gate industry working for a nationwide manufacturer. During a 4-year period I learned many things while working for the Original Overhead Door Company. I learned how the product was engineered, manufactured, and distributed. From there I worked for a local garage door company from which I learned the trade. I started as an apprentice and learned to install, service, and repair any garage door or gate. My experience with M&M Garage Doors was incredible to say the least. There currently is no training or technical school for garage doors and gates so O.J.T is the only way. After working for M&M Garage Doors I became a licensed contractor and started my own company with the help of my big sister. I learned immensely from my parents who were business owners most of their lives and with an A.A. from Mesa College I began my journey.

Now in 2018, I have a small business that focuses on everything relating to doors, gates and custom work. Through these past 11 years I have relied on my family and without them it would be impossible. My sister is very involved in the direction of the business as she was the one who helped me start it. Every successful business has their own adviser, partner, investor, creative department and I’m proud to say my big sister is all of those combined into one. Finally, my company’s reputation is what I am most proud of and throughout all my online listings and review sites have maintained a 4.8 star average or higher.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Nope, a smooth road would have been preferred but I never start something I can’t finish. The obstacles where mental, physical and financial but when you’ve got a decent plan and the drive anything is possible.

C&C Overhead Doors – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We specialize in everything relating to garage doors, gates, automation, and the services around them. Installation, sales, repair, and fabrication. We’ve build some very nice custom doors and gates while also selling and installing high end product. We cover everything from a garage door remote to a custom one of a kind residential driveway gate. What set us apart from others is the service we provide. If a customer can think it we can build and furthermore we have some amazing ideas.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I define success by the end result which is ultimately a satisfied customer. A customer who recommends you and is content with the person whom the invited into their home. I always emphasize and focus on the fact that we walk into people’s homes all day long. A person’s home is as private as it gets, so if you have a satisfied customer you are successful. Business plans and personal goals are equally as important and have their own degree of success attached to them but I consider a happy customer to be better for success.
