Today we’d like to introduce you to Denise and Juliette Carrero.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Denise and Juliette. So, let’s start at the beginning, and we can move on from there.
Our journey began during a wedding event of a mutual friend of ours. This friend contacted me for assistance with floral centerpieces and décor. She was on a budget and on a tight time frame of three months. Immediately, I referred her to Juliette, who had prior experience in event décor and design. They quickly got together and began the preparations and event planning.
On the day of the wedding, I contacted Juliette and offered her my help in setting up, and she quickly took me up on the offer. The set up took a couple of hours and before we knew it, voila! We were done. We found ourselves sitting right next to each other during the reception. We began discussing what a great experience it had been working together during the setup. We were mesmerized how beautiful everything had turned out to be, and what an amazing feeling it was to see the brides reaction and facial expression at the sight of her dream reception. At that moment we both realized and told each other, “we can do this for a living.”
The following day we reconnected, and we were eager to find a name for our new business, we began searching for meaningful words. We wanted to find something that represented who we are to each other, or that had some kind of meaning to the both of us. We came up with Two Sorella Events, which means Two Sisters. It had a catchy sound to it, and it was perfect for us. Juliette and I are sisters, not by blood but through marriage to two brothers. Although we both have our own biological siblings, we value each other the same way.
Soon after, we registered our business and ordered business cards. We partnered up with great wedding vendors who completed our team. Ever since then we have been creating beautiful and meaningful events for all types of occasions.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road has definitely not been a smooth ride, but a rather a “challenging adventure!” as we like to call it.
The current Market is saturated with many people wanting to be event coordinators and event designers. Hence, the reason we need to be on top of our game at all times; such as having to stand out from our competitors, keeping our design work unique and appealing to the public and maintaining competitive pricing for all types of budgets.
Juliette and I have many challenges in our business that we deal with on a daily basis, we truly are like Super Women! We juggle full-time jobs during the week, we make time for our families, attend client meetings, vendor meetings, and most importantly make time to create beautiful events for our clients.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Two Sorella Events – what should we know?
We are Event designers and Event Coordinators. We specialize in all-inclusive packages that include: venue, catering, music, lighting, tablescape decor, and floral design.
Anything that can accommodate our client’s needs for their special event, we focus on bringing their vision to life. We are known for delivering a smooth and unique set up to all our events. Our first goal was and continues to be our client’s ability to have the wedding of their dreams without breaking the bank.
We are proud to be the only wedding business in San Diego that is budget friendly, and price competitive. We do not profit from most of the things we offer, but we do charge a small fee for our time and labor.
