Meet Enrique and Charlene Siliezar of Studio Luniste in South San Diego

Today we’d like to introduce you to Enrique and Charlene Siliezar.

Enrique and Charlene, please share your story with us.
Visual art has always been what drives us creatively and professionally. We both went to school for what we do, film and studio art. After college, we traveled and found not only inspiration but also that rich culture we long for being away from what we know. Most of what we are inspired by its nature – it’s environment and organic energy that then flows from idea to action through artistic freedom.

Soon after, we created Studio Luniste at the beginning of 2017 upon realizing that film and photography have always been our passion. We had friends and family ask us to take their portraits, film their weddings, and also do small events. Enrique also has done freelance video editing for a couple of companies in San Diego and Charlene has always loved capturing the lifestyle and product shots when we go out and support other San Diego community businesses. One day, Enrique brought up the idea of merging our passions into a business so that we can continue with what we love doing and setting up an amazing example for our two children, that you can do what you love through hard work and sacrifice.

This year, we started working with more small businesses and influencers to help create content for them with modern and fresh aesthetics and to continue by helping the community through beautiful imagery and visuals.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Our road has definitely had its bumps, literally… Charlene has been pregnant twice during their initial stage of Studio Luniste. Having children and starting a business is challenging but we work around that struggle. We set a day to solely be with them and take them out. We coordinate crazy schedules with Charlene’s parents, who watch them when we are out shooting or editing. We remind ourselves we are doing this for them when we come home late at night and haven’t seen them the whole day. It’s a sacrifice that will pay off.

From starting Studio Luniste to now, it has luckily been pretty smooth since our children are a bit older. We have awesome clients who refer us to their friends and family who need help with their content or to book a session. Also, social media has been amazing with getting our work out!

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Studio Luniste – what should we know?
Studio Luniste is a film and photography business that documents and captures personal and community growth. We don’t stick to one niche because we love doing it all. From photo sessions, to brand content, to weddings and events, and even seasonal pop-up photoshoots… we enjoy creating. This might sound crazy for us to say that we don’t do just one thing, but that’s okay. We are mostly known for our style, which most people describe as dreamy and modern. We love the simplicity and the organic. During shoots, we’ll often time say to do what comes naturally because that is what we feel showcases raw moments. We don’t like anything forced. What sets us apart is that we like to be different and open-minded. We are easy going humans who always wants to learn. We are here for anyone and everyone who has an idea, big or small, that wants to contribute to their community.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
We are easy going and love a good laugh, but yet we get things done. We come through. We vibe off of other people and get excited about other peoples goals and ideas as much as ours.
