Meet Eric Brown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eric Brown.

Hi Eric, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I was working in finance for 3-4 years when I moved to California, but got burnt out and wanted to take a break. I went into personal training as an interim job, but after going through the interview process with finance companies again, I realized my real passion is helping others. So, I got a job at Gold’s Gym in downtown Los Angeles and started training full-time. It was really awesome meeting a lot of people from different walks of life, yet we all had one common denominator – the discipline and desire to exercise and better ourselves. In 2018, one of my client’s won the Gold’s Gym national transformation challenge, and that’s when it clicked that I am an effective coach and trainer.

When Covid hit in 2020, all the gyms shut down. I kept in contact with a lot of my clients from the gym. I was sending them workouts and training some virtually but then began training a few at a local park near my place. This led me to turn my driveway into an outdoor gym, and EB Fitness began. Over the course of 2 years, I built my brand through mainly word of mouth and my clients sharing their stories. I was actually looking to expand into a commercial space in LA but ended up moving to San Diego. Now, I am currently training out of a location in Del Mar with state-of-the-art equipment called Sante. I also continue to train online.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. Learning through experience was one of the largest struggles because sometimes that meant learning the hard way and came with setbacks. Also learning how to run a business in a world figuring out how to live in a pandemic came with many obstacles to overcome.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am an IFBB Pro Body Builder and have been competing since 2017. Bodybuilding has taught me a lot about discipline and willpower.

I am also a certified master trainer with extensive experience as a physical therapist assistant. My specialities are women’s hormonal holistic health, muscle building, fat loss, recovery, and performance training.

The best part of being a trainer is seeing my clients and their results, physically and mentally. I truly care about each of my clients – their goals are my goals.

What do you think about happiness?
I am happiest when spending time with my friends, family, and girlfriend. Also, happiest when eating!
