Meet Erin Beadle of Lakehouse Hotel and Resort

Today we’d like to introduce you to Erin Beadle.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Erin. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I always say… make sure to leave any job in good standing, maintain positive working relationships and always be building your network. I was offered this opportunity because of that principle.

My first real job out of college was a Sales & Catering Coordinator at Tower23 Hotel in Pacific Beach. My boss at the time was Stacy Warner. When I finally outgrew that position and moved on to work for Hyatt we stayed in touch. She grew up within Eat.Drink.Sleep to become the Corporate Director of Sales and Marketing. When E.D.S. started to look for a GM to help grow the Lakehouse, she thought of me. I was honored and scared all at the same time.

This is when my loving husband sent me an e-mail that I had sent him several years back. It said that I wanted to be a General Manager of a hotel in ten years and laid out how I was going to do it. I knew then that I had to jump on the opportunity and I’m glad I did!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has been a difficult balance between managing a hotel and raising a family. I think most working moms experience the thought that you can never be great at your job and a great mom. There are days when one suffers in place of the other but I hope I hide it well.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
The Lakehouse Hotel and Resort is San Diego’s hidden gem. A true escape from the everyday. As a hotel destination, you would be blown away at what you get for the price. We have been open for a little over 5 years, post-renovation, and the hotel is still spectacular with clean and modern rooms as well as a beautiful and relaxing pool deck.

The full-service Marina offers SUP, Kayak and motorized pontoon boats as well as fishing. The private lake makes for the perfect backdrop to a relaxing day on the water. With the addition of our delicious restaurant Decoy Dockside, Lakehouse has embarrassed its recent accolades as best San Diego staycation. Most popular with couples or families, our resort has everything you need and more than what you could ever expect.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up my parents would say I was a fireball. Always full of energy and the center of attention. My dad said, as I got older, that he always knew I would be in hospitality. He thought for sure a flight attendant but knew I would always work in an industry where my primary goal was to make people happy.
