Meet Gennifer Rose of Gennifer Rose Blog

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gennifer Rose.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
A San Francisco gal fell in love with a San Diego agent, and together they travel the Golden State in search of adventure. Over the last 2 years, we have built a blog and brand that embodies the California spirit and lifestyle. We have roots in both Northern California and Southern California and we travel back and forth often.

What’s Next? After 5 years together we are ready to start a new chapter. We are expecting our first baby in May 2018!

You may think this will slow down our traveling plans, but nope! I’m not gonna lie, our daughter is going to be one lucky girl. She will get to experience the best of California starting at a very young age. Our little jet-setter will be a true Cali girl with both NorCal and SoCal in her blood.

Has it been a smooth road?
Over the last 5 years, we have moved three times within California which has been both a challenge and an opportunity all at once for the blog. During our first 3 years, we lived in San Francisco while Albert attended the University of San Francisco studying economics. We later moved to San Diego for a year while I studied graphic design and photography at Palomar College.

This past December we bought a house in Sacramento, Ca and have been settling into our new city. While it sometimes feels like we are starting from scratch each time we move, on the flip side we become even more familiar with new areas of the state making us certified California experts! The best part is that we have family and roots in both San Diego and San Francisco so we fly back and forth often.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Gennifer Rose Blog – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We are most known for creating detailed and vibrant travel guides for our readers. We include relevant suggestions and tips including how to get to your destination, where to stay, what to eat, sightseeing and even what to pack and wear. We take all original photography to capture the experience and tell a compelling story. Our goal is to inspire our readers and help them arrive prepared to their dream California destinations.

Our top 3 guides for 2017 were: North Park Neighborhood Guide, Summer Soundtrack in Mission Beach and San Luis Obispo Travel Guide.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I grew up in the San Francisco Bay which is known for cold, dark and foggy weather for the majority of the year. Moving to San Diego was such a refreshing change of scenery and I welcomed all the warm and sunny weather. It was really exciting for me to actually get to wear shorts and sundresses, in the past my summer wardrobe would only come out of the closet on vacations. In San Francisco going to the beach meant wearing layers and jackets, but in San Diego, I could actually wear a swimsuit! Go figure!

One thing I was surprised to see in San Diego were the stunning sunsets and the incredible pink glow that happens at “golden hour.” The San Diego natural lighting is a photographer’s dream and unlike any other place I’ve seen. My photographs would have this dewy and dreamy glow, the famed and elusive “California sunshine” can truly be found in San Diego.
