Meet George Muller of Wedge & Lever

Today we’d like to introduce you to George Muller.

George, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Wedge & Lever began as a friendship between three Creative Directors at one of the world’s largest media groups. In 2013, we decided it was time for a new challenge and left the stability of our corporate jobs. We quickly took on a few projects and realized that our backgrounds in media had placed us at the intersection of brand development, content, and entertainment. Since then, we’ve expanded the team and been lucky to work with some incredible clients.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It actually has been a pretty smooth road. That’s not to say there aren’t the ups and downs—that’s universal. But in terms of growing our client base and putting out work that we are proud of, it has been pretty smooth. I think it’s because we’ve always focused on under promising and over delivering to our clients.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Wedge & Lever story. Tell us more about the business.
We are a design, content, and brand strategy studio. I’d say our main specialty is branding, as well as photo and video concepting and production. We are most proud of how we’ve grown from three people into a boutique studio serving Fortune 500 clients—all the while still being based off the 101.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
We’ve definitely been lucky. Without getting into too much detail, there are major things that aligned for us to build our client base. Without luck, who knows what would have developed. But ultimately luck seems to happen more often to those who work hard and are open to trying things.
