Today we’d like to introduce you to Glace Ziperovich.
Glace, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was born in Brazil and came to the US 21 years ago. I call myself a fighter! I love food, and eating has always been my passion. In every family gathering, there was a lot of food involved. When I was younger, I could eat anything I wanted.
However, everything changed when my metabolism started slowing down, and my hormones got out of whack. I had to do something to reverse it. I made a choice to change my lifestyle. I started working out and eating better. I became fascinated with fitness and impressed with the strength of our body.
One day, I was introduced to Lagree Fitness five years ago through a friend and immediately fell in love with it. I love how Lagree Fitness pushes the mind and body, increasing concentration, building resistance, strength, and flexibility. I am amazed how the Megaformer gives you quick results, and you can feel your core fired-up instantly.
I then decided to open my own studio to share my love for the method and the benefits the Megaformer workouts have on the body. I want to motivate and inspire others, specially women, to make lifestyle changes so they can gain strength, endurance, and confidence. Lagree Fitness has completely transformed my body and my overall confidence. I feel stronger mentally and physically than I ever thought I could be and as a result, more connected spiritually. I’ve been continually fascinated with nutrition, health, wellness and encouraging others to live a healthy life a healthy lifestyle. I love helping people find the best version of themselves.
I studied to be a teacher, but I needed a career change. I’m a people person, I enjoy being around people, and love dancing. I have a Master’s degree in Education and teaching has always been my passion. I want to motivate and inspire as many people as possible to make lifestyle changes, so they can feel strong and confident.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Let me tell you that it has not been a smooth road. Starting your own business can be very scary, and it takes more than a great idea. It takes passion, commitment and willingness to take on the challenges in the pursuit of your dream. The most frustrating part is navigating through the overload of resources and requirements.
One of the hardest parts was to find a location because the landlords didn’t want a startup fitness studio. They wanted an established business or a fitness franchise. It took me more than six months to find a good location. Throughout all these challenges that I’ve faced so far, have given me the opportunity to prove that I’m capable of delivering the work. The studio is set to open doors in February 2019.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Studio40 Fitness – what should we know?
We’re a locally-owned business specializing in group and private classes. Our studio is committed to make every workout exciting, fun and firing-up the core. Our classes are designed for all fitness levels. Since our group classes are small and have the capacity for no more than ten clients, we’re able to give the clients the attention necessary to attain their fitness goals. The number “40” stands for the total-time of our classes.
Studio40 Fitness will be offering not only modern Pilates Lagree Method but also HIIT, Yoga, Hip Hop, Challenges programs, and Wellness workshops. We’re here to motivate and inspire everyone towards your fitness goals in an empowering environment. The advantage of group classes is that it keeps everyone motivated, accountable to others and socially engaged while we exercise.
The revolutionary Lagree Fitness Method™ will raise both your strength and flexibility, transforming your body in 40-minute sessions. Studio40 Fitness’ mission is to promote a healthy lifestyle in a busy world. My studio focuses on uplifting, inspiring, and guiding clients to reach their full potential in a fun, encouraging and upbeat environment. The Megaformer fuses key elements of Pilates with strength training and cardio, offering a low-impact, high-intensity total body workout. The workout strengthens the body, tones and elongates the muscles, improves endurance, increases flexibility and postural alignment. This high-intensity, low-impact workout is adaptable for men and women of all ages and fitness levels.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My family and friends have been my greatest supporters from the beginning when I told them about opening my own business. I’m also part of women entrepreneurs’ groups, and they have been a great support with resources and helping me connect with other businesses.
