Today we’d like to introduce you to GLENN GIMUTAO.
GLENN, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My love for photography started when I was in middle school, where I always brought a camera with me to school and documented almost everything I could. In High School I was part of the yearbook team and also took a black & white photography class where my love even grew bigger. I eventually graduated from the University of California Irvine with a Bachelors in Film & Media and started my wedding business “Diamond Oculus.” My love for weddings comes from my passion in documenting couples and the stories they tell.
Has it been a smooth road?
There have definitely been struggles through my journey. Like they always say, you’re biggest critic is yourself and I will say that is true till this very day. Having the confidence to produce beautiful work is always tough, but I always surround myself with positive people in my life that support me everyday.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Diamond Oculus – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I specialize in fine art wedding & portrait photography. My work is best known for its soft and romantic tones and ability to capture candid moments. What sets me apart from others is that I am a hybrid photographer. I love to mix old & new formats of photography, shooting on traditional film cameras as well as digital cameras.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Hands down the weather in San Diego is amazing! I’m born and raised in San Diego and I will probably never leave. As a wedding photographer in San Diego, we have the most gorgeous sunsets in the world. It would be nice to have an actual winter.
