Meet Israel Stone of Mad Media

Today we’d like to introduce you to Israel Stone.

Israel, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Mad Media is a San Diego based advertising and marketing consultant group. We craft authentic, culturally engaging brand messages, and deliver them across print, web, photography, and film platforms. Mad Media has been leading the online content revolution since 1995 producing major commercial, television, online content and viral film projects such as The Gymkhana Series and XP1K Series. Mad Media has evolved into event production as well, including The Mint 400, UTV World Championship and The Legends Rally. With the focus on off-road culture, Mad Media continues to shape the future of this expanding industry.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
With 99% of the world unpaved, the roads we take are seldom smooth. How we overcome these struggles defines who we are. There is an undeniable passion and dedication from the top down that makes Mad Media unique. The most recent challenge would be the saturation of media companies in this industry willing to do the same work for less.

Making high quality content is something Mad Media is committed to therefore we are not willing to compromise quality for a quick buck. This can narrow our options for new business but is worth it for our reputation. “12 hours is a half day” “You can work a 40-hr. work week in 2 days and still sleep 4 hours a night”

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Mad Media – what should we know?
Mad Media makes high quality content for the off-road industry. The vast majority of the major players in this industry use our media services on some level. Our clients include — BFG, Polaris, Rigid Industries, Rugged Radios, PCI Radios, Walker Evans, Fox Shocks, and the list goes on. We are very proud of our viral video series named XP1K. We released the 4th video (XP1K4) of the series in April and it was actually filmed in San Diego County, just east of Escondido. Our high-quality production and radical stunts set us apart from any media company out there. We also have a lot of pride in our event production. The Mint 400 is the largest off-road race in the USA and 2018 will be the 50th anniversary of this race. We put on everything from the race to the parade to producing the TV show and all logistics in between. This is a massive event that keeps us very busy for part of the year.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
Yes, the Martelli brothers are the masterminds behind Mad Media. Matt and Josh Martelli lead by example and get right into the trenches with their employees. They are the first ones in and last to leave. Both get their hands dirty and never shy away from a challenge.
