Meet Jan Catron of Sweet Paper Wishes in North County, Inland

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jan Catron.

Jan, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I have always loved creating whether it was painting, sewing, crocheting or baking, I’ve tried everything. Once my nest became empty I stumbled upon paper card crafting with rubber stamps, inks and all sorts of embellishments. Most of my time is spent making greeting cards and other items involving paper. Invitations, paper flowers, paper wreaths.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Creativity is never smooth. There are days when inspiration does not come; days when you don’t make the sale you’d hope to make. But the healing is in the process, so you continue.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Sweet Paper Wishes – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I am a one person greeting card shop. I make and sell greeting card, gift tags, bottle tags, invitations and more. I am known for a very simple clean style. I can create any style as needed but my eye leads me to clean and simple. I’m most proud of the fact that I make the cards, but also send many though out the year. Sending and receiving “snail mail” still brings a smile and love into the recipient’s heart.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Travel with my recently retired husband is in the future. Off to Tokyo….looking forward to their paper stores! In the down time, I’ll continue making cards and custom orders as they come in.

Great story – but your business will blossom. Great, well deserved.
