Today we’d like to introduce you to Jason Bell.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Jason. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’ve worked as a fitness professional since 2008, specializing in speed, strength, power, and endurance training. My journey in the fitness industry began at the age of 8 with Pop Warner football, baseball, basketball, karate, and wrestling. The discipline I learned during my service in the U.S. Army (as an M1 Tank operator and combat life saver) coupled with nearly 30 years of athletic training make my passion for fitness beyond reproach. I’m a proponent of the Brazilian martial art of Capoeira, gymnastics, triathlons, and marathons (thanks to a long history in track and field). My time spent as a DJ in the Florida Drum and Bass scene speaks to my taste in music and level of intensity… hard and heavy.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road has been fairly smooth, but it has been a learning process. The process of getting and keeping clients is always a challenging one.
I was a little naïve in the beginning. I thought that everyone who started training would just keep going. It took me a while to figure out that sometimes people just move on.
Keeping positive and maintaining a steady flow of the new clientele is the key to my success.
Please tell us about B Cubed Fitness.
B Cubed Fitness is a collective of health seekers of every size, shape, athletic ability, and demographic. Soccer moms, athletes, active older adults, bodybuilders, and everything in between.
We provide a family-friendly, no nonsense environment with personal training and group fitness classes focused on the speed, strength, endurance, power, and stamina.
The thing we are most known for – other than our intense training – is the presence of children. My moms are comfortable bringing their kids to our group classes, so there are always 5 to 10 children running around the open field. This family friendly environment is what I’m most proud of.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
In the beginning, I marketed only to the hardest of the hard-core client. I learned quickly that that demographic is fairly small. Marketing to a broader audience increased my numbers and taught me to stretch my training techniques out to adapt to the less knowledgeable. It was a win-win.
