Meet Jennifer Cox of Craft and Flora

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Cox.

Jennifer, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My name is Jennifer Cox, and San Diego has been home for the past 16 years. I graduated from UC San Diego with a Biology degree and attended Cal State San Marcos School of Nursing to land my dream job as Labor & Delivery and Postpartum Nurse at UC San Diego hospital in 2015.

I’ve always enjoyed crafts and the outdoors, so during the pandemic, I had a little extra time to explore both passions. I started to explore outdoor hand-crafted plant decor, focusing on eco-friendly succulents and air plants. Experimenting in my own home and garden first, I started to really love bringing creativity into the outdoors. I created a few unique pieces and began posting them online… shortly after, my friends and their friends started asking for their own succulent creations, so I decided to turn my hobby into a side business.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I tend to book up quickly as this mama of two also loves her day job helping bring newborns into the world. This business is the perfect side hustle/creative outlet for me.

As you know, we’re big fans of Craft and Flora. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about the brand?
Explore what you love, and it won’t seem like work. For me, this business was always a passion, so it didn’t seem like a hassle or issue to spend time on creating new pieces.
