Meet Jennifer Guerin of JG Color Studios in Bankers Hill

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Guerin.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
From a young age, I was in love with art and design. Growing up in a small town in Michigan I had a lot of time to daydream, draw and develop a work ethic that has brought me to where I am today. My first business was designing purses, then a large specialty paint company to a interior design and color consulting firm that allows me to use my creativity best offering solutions for others. I love how no day is ever the same and I enjoy the relationships I develop with my clients as much as discovering the ways to help them find their personality in their hues and surroundings.

Has it been a smooth road?
Owning your own business is a constant risk as well as struggle to mentally live above the everyday worries that can take away from the enjoyment and the perks of being an entrepreneur and its freedoms. The first ten years that struggle was real. The recession of 2007 meant humbly closing the doors of the company I grew from scratch successfully since 2001 and letting go of the employees that had become a family. Making mistakes and learning from them has made me a better business owner as well as a designer.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with JG COLOR STUDIOS – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
JG Color Studios specializes in commercial & residential interior design as well as color expertise that spreads across color branding for firms, trend forecasting, product color design as well as helping clients choose hues for architectural surfaces both inside and out.

When you work with our team you are hiring color nerds who not only have a passion for pigments & the science behind it but also out of the box design in which clients can work with us to develop environments that stand out to them or for their clients.

Utilizing technology as well as making green choices in building materials and specifications are passions we fully stand by & educate our clients so they can not only enjoy the process of the design the be in love with the final outcome.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love the proximity to all things nature – ocean, desert and mountains. Within minutes you can explore and adventure in any one of them depending on your mood!

What do I like least? Day in and day out watching our homelessness community grow larger with what feels like a slow-moving solution.

I am an artist, very tuned in to color. Jen helped me to use my creative side to choose colors that compliment my 1950’s style home. I have referred her to friends who have been so happy with her creativity and design expertise.

I can vouge for Jennifer’s design and color expertise. She hand mixed an accent wall color in my home that was like The Mediterranean Sea on a cool spring day. Just gorgeous! I so appreciated her care and commitment to creating something special for me!
