Meet Jess Guerrero

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jess Guerrero.

Hi Jess, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started my blog when I was in college with the intention of documenting my personal style. I had a lot of fun from the very beginning – writing posts, shooting photos, and even learning web design on my own! Little did I know that this creative space of mine would evolve over time and lead to incredible opportunities. I’ve been able to attend fashion shows, meet designers, and collaborate with some of my favorite brands.

Social media platforms, like Instagram, have allowed me to expand my reach as I continue sharing my personal style, travels, and all things lifestyle. But at the end of the day, my favorite part has always been connecting with my readers and other bloggers. I’m grateful for the community we’ve built over time and having a space to share things that inspire me.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. The biggest challenge for me has been balancing being a full-time career woman and a part-time blogger. I started blogging during my free time in college and shortly after graduating, I had to hit pause on the blog while I adjusted to post-grad life. I learned that time management is key and prioritized what platforms I wanted to spend time and effort on to avoid feeling overwhelmed.

What else can you share with our readers about your work and what sets you apart from others?
As a lifestyle blogger and content creator, I specialize in documenting my personal style, travel adventures, beauty favorites, and life in Southern California. I’m proud of having collaborated with a variety of brands and being a guest at incredible events hosted by Neiman Marcus, Kate Spade, and San Diego Fashion Week among others. I also feel proud of the amazing community I’ve built with my readers! It still surprises me whenever I receive messages from people in places like Canada, Europe, and Brazil.

I believe what sets me apart from others is my authenticity. Staying true to myself has always been important. When you share your honest, authentic self, it’s easy for others to connect with you by relating to what you have in common. I’m also intentional about connecting with my readers, I talk to them like I talk to my friends and I believe this has been a contributing factor in building an online community.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
Where do I even start! I love that the weather is pretty much perfect all year round. There’s so much this city has to offer, from beaches and mountains, to parks, museums, and gardens, there’s honestly something for everyone. The food here is also top notch. Some of my favorite restaurants and cafes are in Little Italy and North Park. I also love San Diego’s laid-back lifestyle, although it’s a big city you get that beach town vibe. People are kind, fun, and don’t take themselves too seriously. What I like the least about San Diego would be the traffic. I feel like it’s getting worse every year! Housing is also pricey, but I get it – who wouldn’t want to live in this beautiful city?
