Meet Jessica Ragsdale of The Lash Room in Pacific Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Ragsdale.

Jessica, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started The Lash Room September of 2015, I was working at another lash boutique & after a lot of encouragement from clients, co-workers, friends, & family I decided to take the plunge & go out on my own! After having the opportunity to spend the first few years out of high school moving around the east coast, when I finally came to San Diego I was excited to start my esthetic education & pursue a career in the beauty industry. While I can’t say it has been the easiest task, it has been the most rewarding. I have poured my heart & soul into this business & watching it grow will forever be one of my biggest accomplishments.

Has it been a smooth road?
If a business owner ever tells you it has been a smooth road, they are lying! The decision to start my own business included taking a financial risk not only in putting money up front for rent, supplies, etc., but also the predictability of a paycheck. Despite some lean times in the beginning, it was well worth it. Of course there have been many other struggles along the way as well, from website crashes, to building clientele, location, & partnerships, there have been many obstacles, but that’s what makes the outcome more rewarding!

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the The Lash Room story. Tell us more about the business.
At The Lash Room I specialize in eyelash extensions & lash lifts! I am certified by two highly reputable lash companies & have nearly three years of experience. I customize each lash set to each individual client, making sure to accentuate their natural look while making sure to keep the health of their natural lashes in perfect condition, while providing exceptional customer service and meeting each client’s needs.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
The beauty industry is ever changing! With lashes there are so many possibilities of different looks, I’ve seen the cat eye become popular, to the more doll-like look, to the very dramatic glam look. The lash lift is still fairly new & is becoming a quick client favorite, so I’m excited to see what else comes out!
