Meet Jill Thomas of Soul Connect Hypnotherapy in Encinitas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jill Thomas.

Jill, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My business started as a near life interest in hypnotherapy and hobby. It turned a business during when the economic downturn had me getting laid off from my sales career 3 times in 1 year.

I was the nerd in high school that everyone went to for advise on how to handle their problems. Not much has changed only now I have a nice office and am able to get paid for my time.

It took a long time and I made a lot of mistakes in my marketing approach but after 10 my business is now in a good place. I am very lucky to have a “job” that brings me much joy.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Like many people who are near lifelong “employees” I had trouble figuring out how to be a successful business owner. When you own a business you have no boss to ask what to do when things don’t go your way or you have a problem you don’t know how to handle. Or when your phone isn’t ringing and you don’t know how to fix that.

I had been in sales my entire adult career selling other peoples products and services. It’s quite a bit harder when you are trying to sell yourself.

It’s also really difficult to know the most advantageous way to spend a very small marketing budget.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I am an intuitive hypnotherapist specializing in anxiety, weight loss and helping people get past fears and phobias among other conventional things. I combine hypnotherapy, coaching and intuitive wisdom to help my clients achieve the results they want.

In my practice I help people get to the root of their problems so that we are not just addressing the symptoms of their issues but rather looking at the surface.

Another big part of my business is past life regressions where I help people understand who they were in a past life and heal from past life trauma.

What sets me apart is my ability to connect with my clients and help them understand how to heal their problems at a deeper level.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up we moved around a lot so I was very often the new kid in school. I was very quiet and it wasn’t always easy to make friends for me. For me it was often easier to listen to others than to talk myself which in a lot of ways is perfect training for a counseling and coaching career.

It didn’t help that I was also a total nerd who was pretty much always reading a book. I probably read The Lord of the Rings Trilogy 5 times as a kid.

At a pretty young age, I got interested in self-help and weight loss books. I was overweight most of my young life so I had read every book on weight loss, nutrition and healing that I could get my hands on.

Pricing:

  • $119 for the first session
  • $299 for 3 session
  • $149 for a past life regression
