Today we’d like to introduce you to Jim Crudgington.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Jim. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I grew up in a small town about 50 miles east of downtown San Diego couple years ago had an opportunity to acquire a tow truck decided it would be a nice change work in the mountains that I love and build something that my daughter could be proud to inherit someday with the support of my family Shamrock Towing LLC has been able to grow to include a pickup truck for services and with the continued support I am excited to see how the company can grow to better serve Far East County in the coming years.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Some of the challenges are dealing with state DOT, insurance companies and the cost of running a mobile service business when the tow truck breaks down there is no income and you still have to be able to fix the truck and try to get it running as quickly as possible.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Shamrock Towing LLC – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Shamrock Towing LLC serves an area of East County approximately 333 square miles, Towing and roadside service are the basics of everyday but when a customer calls and says they have a vehicle badly stuck in the mud and they’ve called five other tow companies and have been turned down there is pride involved when you can go recover the vehicle for the customer. I’ve had insurance companies call and tell me they have a travel trailer with a good spare tire but nobody will go change it for them I keep a 20-ton bottle jack on the truck specifically for calls like that so being able to take calls that nobody else wants recover Vehicles nobody else wants to touch is a great source of pride.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Sometime over the next year year-and-a-half looking to add a flatbed tow truck and at some point a 20-ton medium-duty, getting into a permanent location, changes that have already been made was adding a F250 Super Duty 4×4.
