Meet Joey Lizotte

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joey Lizotte.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
Art has always been a passion for me. From building tree forts and rollercoasters to playing the piano and painting…creating flowers as art seemed like a natural progression in my life. From Emerson College, Mass. College of Art, and Boston Conservatory, my story begins here. After college I worked at WSBK TV38 in Boston, MA, as technical director for the Red Sox and the Bruins…all the while, feeling drawn to California…so I decided to make the move. Landing a job at KCET as videotape editor in Los Angeles, I still had the opportunity to be creative, yet didn’t feel complete. A series of events connected me to a friend who was in a pinch and needed multi-service creativity. I immediately said yes, and started off decorating Christmas trees, which quickly led to designing flowers. Cut to the chase, I moved to Palm Springs and opened Artisan Events, where now my skills, talents and passions for flowers, events and decor could finally blossom. I have the best job ever…Not everyone gets to do what they love to do.

Please tell us about your art.
Inspiration comes from every place for me. From nature, color, textures, travel and people. Everyone and everything is different, as every event is unique…and yes, even painting, that is a passion of mine, Bright, fun, inspired, and uniquely curated, never repeated…this is my passion in life. I hope that from anything I do, I create the best day ever.
