Meet John Selby

Today we’d like to introduce you to John Selby.

Hi John, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My mom Joanie Selby has been in the business since the early 2000s, and my aunt is a 30+ year veteran in the real estate world. I got my real start in 2014, working side by side with my mom. From there, it took persistence, learning, and hard work to get where I am today. I never pass up an opportunity to learn. With that in mind and my true desire to build long-lasting relationships, I have built a sustainable business for myself. My goal is to keep that going and help newer agents grow as well.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Real estate is never a smooth road. It’s about being able and willing to adapt. I don’t have any good examples because anytime I have a roadblock, I work on figuring out how to get past it and then keep going!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a real estate professional in the residential real estate space. We work alongside our buyers and seller clients to help them achieve their real estate goals. We look at each client as a long-lasting relationship. Our goal is not to just do one “deal.” We want to make our clients friends and “clients for life.” I am proud that we have been able to stand out in San Diego real estate, becoming one of the top teams in the area. Because of the great service we provide, our clients come back to work with us over and over again and often times refer their friends and family to us. We love real estate and it shows in how we do business.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
75 and sunny! San Diego is the best city to live in. So many things to do, restaurants, beach, bay, parks, hiking! There is nothing bad about this amazing city.
