Meet Joshua Yeagley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joshua Yeagley.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Joshua. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I have always been creative and artistic since I was a child. I have always had a strong drive to aim high and dream big. After growing up in a small town in Indiana, I knew I was destined for huge things. Fast forward a few years after graduating high school, I applied to attend an art college in Long Beach, CA. I moved out to LB in 2004 with only $100 and a box of clothes.

As I started my new adventure to put myself through college and earn my degree in Architectural interior design, I told myself you got this and you are gonna be big! After years of school and working as a professional interior designer in corporate world, I felt it was time for me to have my own company and do what I do best which was to design and be creative. My company took off and as my clientele grew, I grew with it and was ready to move to a new city with more growth potential. I remember my first teacher telling me San Diego was a great place to grow as the city has so much to offer and will constantly be growing. So after a few months of visiting and feeling it out, I made the move in 2013. As everything began to fall into place Yeagley’s Designs began to grow even bigger and quickly started to become known as all my clientele were referrals via word of mouth.

As Yeagley’s Designs become a well know name and place for great design I knew it was time to bring it closer to the public and open a designer studio furniture showroom where I could showcase my work and services even more as well my love for community involvement. With a lot of looking and working hard, I found the perfect spot in Hillcrest and was happy to open my doors March of 2019 and it is has been even more amazing every since. I love what I do and take my job very seriously as I change beliefs lives every day with giving them an amazing space to come home as well as putting a great smile of on their faces.

These past 15yrs of me designing and creating have been amazing. It has been a lot of opticals and negative energy of “you can’t do that” but I fought through proving anything is possible even if you come from nothing. You have to aim high with a foot on the grown and go for it and let no one or thing stand in your way of your dreams. Your drive and passion will see the way as it did for me.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you
There was a lot of money struggles along the way as in spaces undercharging or ex’s draining you savings. I paid for myself to go to college as well as I pay for everything my company is from out of pocket no loans.

I had a lot of negative energy around me even from my hometown. Like “you can afford to do that live there”, “you can’t start your own company”, “you can’t do that” and so on. I used that as drive to be better and drive them wrong.

Those are the main ones as other struggles were basic life problems testing me.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Yeagley’s Designs – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
