Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisbeth Garces.
Since 2007, Lisbeth has sought to provide dance therapy exercise for people with disabilities in memory of her late son, Juan Carlos Garces, who suffered from Muscular Dystrophy. Lisbeth is certified in Zumba® Fitness, Zumba Gold® (for beginners and seniors), Zumba Toning® (body sculpting and high-energy cardio work) and ZumbAtomic® (for kids 4-12), Aqua Zumba®, and currently provides instruction at classes throughout San Diego County. She has already taken classes in areas such as first aid, CPR, Kinesiology, and fitness instruction. Lisbeth was one of the first Zumba® instructors in San Diego and has built a regular following throughout the county with her Latin music-inspired professional, joyful, and inspiring classes.
Has it been a smooth road?
Recruiting others to help with building and sustaining the Juan Carlos organization program has been a challenge. Also, constant fundraising is a challenge. Recruiting students and encouraging their ongoing participation is a challenge as well, as is the publicity needed to keep this program in the public eye, in order to maintain public interest and support.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Juan Carlos Organization – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
The Juan Carlos Organization program is unique in Southern California in the range of activities it presents for the whole spectrum of people who live with disabilities, whether intellectual or physical. Cardiovascular exercise, combined with socialization skills, in an upbeat atmosphere of live music and continual support from the instructor are regular features of every event in this program. The combination of physical, mental, and social activities contribute to a healthful life for each participant in the program.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
San Diego’s weather is not only beautiful but makes it possible to be outdoors almost every single day of the year. The mix of people from so many different national, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds makes this an exciting city to live in. The unusual geography of San Diego, with its beaches, mountains, deserts, and even badlands in the far east edge of the county, is in a usual mix that makes all kinds of outdoor fun possible. On the negative side, there aren’t very many negative aspects to living in San Diego, but the cost of housing and of renting spaces to present classes is very high here.
