Meet Juliette Sakasegawa of JulietteSak Life + Wellness in Mira Mesa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Juliette Sakasegawa.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Juliette. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Six years ago, I was working full time as a teacher. I had a three-year-old son and a baby girl. I went back to work after my maternity leave and my life started to really change.

I was given more responsibility at my job, which was flattering, but it also started to take a toll on me.
I was trying to be perfect in every area of my life and I wasn’t handling anything well. I noticed that I was in a bad mood most of the time. I was able to hold things together at work but, at home, I was impatient with my kids and my husband. I found myself yelling and upset a lot.

I had everything I’d ever wanted but I wasn’t happy and I didn’t know why. The people who are closest to me in my life started to notice that I wasn’t myself and encouraged me to seek support.

It was at that time that I began a new journey in my life. I started working with a therapist who helped me discover the magic of self-care. I learned that putting myself first and taking care of myself made me a better person for all of my loved ones. I was better able to show up with peace and patience for my family and friends.
I began to discover myself and what brought me joy. Through a challenging process, I was able to let go of a lot of guilt, a lot of perfectionist tendencies, and I made the decision to leave my career as a teacher and stay home with my kids instead.

Over the next four years, my journey continued. I had another baby girl and continued to discover what I wanted for my life.

In 2015, I decided I wanted to start my own business and I began working with a skincare company. That work led to me too many discussions with women and I was reminded that I was not the only one struggling to make time for herself. I was reminded that many women feel guilty about prioritizing themselves.

In 2016, I started a free self-care support group online and that began a whole new journey for me. Hosting the group and supporting women inspired me to become a certified life coach. I got my certification in July of 2016 and since then I have been working with women individually and in groups, helping them create joyful, fulfilling, and empowered lives. I’m passionate about inspiring women to prioritize themselves and embrace lots of self-care.

I currently offer private coaching, business mentoring for new entrepreneurs, I host 2 online communities – one is free and one is a paid membership. I also teach an online course that I created called Pillars of Empowerment, and I speak about a number of topics at workshops and conferences.

Has it been a smooth road?
I don’t think any road in life or business is smooth. I’ve had a lot of challenges and continue to but I overcome them with my mindset and positive attitude. There have been quite a few times when I just wanted to quit because I felt like the work I was doing wasn’t important like I wasn’t making an impact on anyone.
Self-confidence and self-worth get in my way sometimes but I continue to remind myself that I have an important story to share and I know that there are women out there who need support from someone who understands them.

I believe we are all in this crazy life together and we need to come together to support one another. That’s what I’m trying to cultivate on a daily basis.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with JulietteSak Life + Wellness – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I am a certified life and career coach as well as a mentor to entrepreneurs, a speaker, a course creator, and an educator. I love working with women who are ready to make changes in their lives, who want to live joyful, fulfilling, empowered lives that they design.

Everything I teach and create is based on my own personal experience over the past 6 years. I have learned so much from my own story, my therapists, my coaches, and my instructors. I have been building two businesses while at the same time parenting my three children. I have worked hard to balance my work, my relationship with my husband, and my family, as well as take care of myself.

I’m not perfect and I don’t have it all figured out but I do have a lot of knowledge to share about time management, setting priorities, creating healthy boundaries and self-care. I have a lot to share with women and at the same time, I also learn so much from my clients. I see our work together as a partnership. I love engaging in supportive, creative relationships with my clients.

I’d love to invite everyone to join my free self-care support group, Take Care of YOU at bit.ly/takecareofyougroup. I’d also love to invite readers to contact me for a complimentary “Love Your Life” Discovery session.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
What I love most about San Diego is how much there is to do here and all the different parts of our city. Each neighborhood has such a unique feel and personality. You can experience a lot all in one place. Oh and I also love the food scene. My husband and I love to go on dates and there are so many good restaurants!

I think what I like least is there isn’t enough rain. I love rain and there just isn’t enough of it for me here.
