Meet Kathleen Daly

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Kathleen Daly. Kathleen was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Kate Leeney.

Hi Kathleen, we’re so thrilled to have you sharing your story with us today. Maybe we can kick things off by having you introduce yourself to our readers? We’d love to have you go into your story and how you got to where you are today.
I started nutrition coaching with Kate in spring of 2019. I was trying to get back in shape before summer following the birth of my first child in fall 2018. I took a break during the pregnancy with my second daughter and shortly after her birth in spring of 2020 I found myself again looking for health and wellness support. As luck would have it Kate was hosting a virtual event for postpartum mothers. Following the event I joined the summer challenge and have been connected with the Luminous Life community ever since. I have been through almost every fad diet you can think of and I am finally at a place in my life and with my health and wellness goals that I was looking for a long term lifestyle instead of a “quick fix.” Kate and the Luminous Life community are the supportive accountability I needed to not just lose weight, but to feel like myself again inside and out. From nutrition to mindset and self care goals, Kate covers it all. This past year has been crazy in more ways than one and I am so grateful to have had this positive community of women to lean on when stress, anxiety or the busyness of life threatened to kick my own selfcare into the backseat. They have been a consistent and gentle reminder of what we are all capable of how much love and kindness we have to share when our cups are full and we are fueling our bodies with the cleanest ingredients (while leaving lots of room for fun!). My favorite thing about Kate and the Luminous Life lifestyle is that there is no failure or falling off the wagon, there’s just a realignment with my goals and knowing I can make a different choice next time. As Kate would say, have grace and be flexible!

Let’s talk about your work and career – what else should we know?
I am the Clinical Program Director & Art Therapist at The Cancer Support Center, a nonprofit in Chicago’s south land suburbs providing supportive services to anyone impacted by cancer at no cost to the participant. We provide counseling, support group, yoga classes, wigs and nutrition education in addition to much more. I love being able to support individuals and their loved ones while they navigate their cancer journey. I truly could not support our staff and participants without the self care I have put into practice thanks to Luminous Life.

As you know, we’re big fans of Kate Leeney and Luminous Life we know you’ve worked with them quite a bit as well. We’d love to hear about your experience working with Kate Leeney.
I might have messed up the questions because I talked about this in the my story part. Let me know if you need different information than what I shared and I would be happy to send more!

In case I didn’t talk about it- the Luminous life community and Kate have helped me so much as a mother of 2. That was a very difficult transition, especially during a pandemic. It was easy to grab bites of Mac n cheese here and there and really put my own needs on the back burner. Getting involved with Luminous Life reminded me what it felt like to take care of my needs and get in touch with a part of myself that had been lost for a couple years. Between 2 close pregnancies and breastfeeding my body had done amazing things, though never quit felt like mine. Focusing on my Heath and wellness with the luminous life community and Kate continues to give me back so much of myself and it shows in all the areas of my life- as a wife, mother, friend and professional.
