Meet Kevin Coughran of Captured Cupid

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kevin Coughran.

Kevin, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started filming weddings the summer before my final semester at Sacramento State University where I was getting my BA in film. After my first wedding I was sold and wanted to film more! Being a wedding videographer certainly has challenges before, during and after the wedding day but it is one of the most rewarding styles of filmmaking. Since before that last semester in 2015, we have done over 50 weddings creating personalized films for every bride. Our company continues to grow as we service clients all over California and look forward to expand not only through the states but someday internationally as well!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
In my experience I don’t think you can start any business without a few hiccups along the way especially when it comes to the most important day of peoples of lives, their wedding day! Understanding that we create films that may not be enjoyed by all is a challenge that we deal with every day. The best thing we can do is put our best work forward and be happy with what we put out. Usually they are happy with the final product and so are we!

Another obstacle that we have come across is time! Spending time with family is very important to me as my daughter just started her first year in school. It is hard to spend time away from her and my other family members however finding a balance between the two certainly has become an obstacle I still strive to balance more!

We’d love to hear more about your business.
We are small wedding film company. We offer photography and videography services for weddings and events. We are known for our wedding videos as they have grown the most over the years. I am most proud of our wedding videos and the work we produce for each bride!

What were you like growing up?
I was always out going as a kid wanting to be friends with everyone around me. I also wanted to know it all as well. Always wanting to get that A in school. Most of the time I ended up getting the A I wanted. I was into many different sports as well from basketball, football, water polo, track, cross country, and more! I grew up with a lot of brothers and sisters so we were usually pretty active throughout our childhood, as we were always up to something!
