Meet Kimberly Rivas of A Wedding & Event Flower Company in North County

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly Rivas.

A Wedding and Event Flower Company was created by florist Kimberly. Kim has been in the floral industry since the age of 16 years old. She has taught flower design classes through out the state of California and has designed destination weddings from Seattle, WA to Louisville, KY. Her design work has been featured regularly on San Diego FOX 5 Morning News and she is the creator of the idea ‘Blossoms & Brew’ a flower design workshop offered at local San Diego Breweries.

Kim will tell you, “I have always had 2 passions in life, Law Enforcement and Flowers.” Her major in college was Administration of Justice and her Minor Ornamental Horticulture. Floral design was something Kim enjoyed since her first job delivering flowers for a local flower shop in her home town. Then as she got older, it became something with more of a therapeutic value that she did ‘on the side; while performing her duties as a Corrections Officer serving in the United States Marine Corps. It became quite the joke amongst her peers, earning the title of ‘Marine Florist’. After meeting her husband in the United States Marine Corps and starting a family, she transitioned out of Law Enforcement and focused on fine tuning her skills as a florist.

A Wedding and Event Flower Company provides gorgeous flower arrangements for weddings and events alike….let us help make your wedding or event a special occasion to remember!

Has it been a smooth road?
The road has had it challenges. For me, the challenge has been exposure. Getting my name out there has been a slow moving process, but things are starting to gain momentum.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with A Wedding & Event Flower Company – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We provide flower arrangements for weddings and events alike. I also teach both private and group flower design classes. I am most proud that I have taken a dream/idea and have slowly been making it a reality. Owning my own business and being able to ‘make it on my own’ doing what I love is freakin’ awesome!

I am also excited about Blossoms & Brew a flower design workshop that I offer at local breweries in San Diego County.

I take extreme pride in every detail of the events that I work. I believe that I provide a personal experience to my clients when designing their Wedding and that specialized attention is what sets me apart.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I like all of the different opportunities for both business and pleasure that San Diego provides…..such a variety!

I dislike the traffic the most!
