Meet Kristen LiVigni of Kristen Vincent Photography in Coronado

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristen LiVigni.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Originally from California’s gorgeous Central Coast, I’ve been lucky enough to call Coronado, CA home for the last 8 years. My family and I love exploring new places and traveling as much as possible. Do I shoot Destination Weddings? Yes, please!

I don’t only shoot weddings though. If you look at my work you’ll see that I shoot a variety of ages, stages and awesome life events. When I first started I was primarily working with families and children. While I loved photography, I quickly learned that I loved the business end too. Learning how to market, time manage, edit, and all the aspects of owning my own business was so exciting, and I love teaching the newer photogs how to balance it all. You can have a rad business AND a great family life!

I get asked a lot if I have a studio. The short answer, nope. Living in San Diego it would be a shame to waste all these sunny days, and awe-inspiring sunsets. Unless I’m shooting a wedding with an indoor venue, or a newborn session, you will find me outdoors. Plus, my clients love playing in the sunshine!

These days my calendar is filled with every part of photography. I work with brand new families and their tiny newborns, play with kids on the sand at the beach, shoot big weddings all over the country, work with some amazing interior designers to shoot their finished products to share on Instagram and their websites and photograph professionals to create one of a kind head shots that speak to what they do. Everyday it’s something fresh, new and creative.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Owning your own business will always throw you curveballs, and will teach you so much about how to handle adversities. The photography world is highly competitive; this is why I strive to offer personal touches and am very hands on with the entire process. I want my clients to feel like friends and connect with them in a way that others don’t.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I am so proud of where my little photography business has gone. I’ve been voted Coronado’s BEST Photographer 5 years in a row, been featured on many wedding blogs and my clients the sweetest. Getting a hand written Thank You note in the mail after I’ve delivered a session, it’s the best!

What were you like growing up?
I’m an identical twin and believe it or no, we are both professional photographers. I’ve always liked to lead and have been very driven to succeed.
