Meet Kristen Patten of 7 Deadly Confections

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristen Patten.

Hi Kristen, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I come from a very artistic family. My Grandmother and Grandfather were both artists, which is a talent I didn’t get. I do think their artistic side came to me through my baking. I grew up watching my Mother bake, my best friend’s mother worked in a bakery. You never dream that it could and would become your life. I’ve adopted a vegan lifestyle, and I knew many others would find themselves there. 7 Deadly Confections started as an Idea but has quickly grown into something very special. We are still home-based but getting busier and busier everyday.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Running your own business is not an easy road at all. When you work out of your home, it can make it more difficult. I’ve learned that sometimes you can only achieve so much. Prepping large orders can be tough based on the space you have. We’ve added a few small pieces of equipment to make it easier. But, in reality. We will outgrow our space and will move into a commercial space in the future.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are a 100% Vegan home-based bakery. We are passionate about creating Vegan desserts and items that everyone can enjoy. We are known for a couple of different items. Our coffee cakes are very popular! We do offer six different flavors of coffee cake, Lemon Raspberry, Cinnamon Streusel, Blueberry Cobbler just to name a few. In addition, we are certainly known for our cakes. We create custom cakes for any occasion!

Our recipes are a reflection of our customers. We take pride in what we create and our ability to meet our customer’s needs. We have continued to grow over the last year even with Covid. We are extremely thankful for our customers for continuing to come back to us.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I am not sure that I believe in luck when it comes to a business, I believe if you have a great product, you can truly achieve anything.
