Meet Kyle Whissel of Whissel Realty Group in Santee, North Park and Carlsbad

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kyle Whissel.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I began my real estate career while attending UCSD for college. My dad pushed me to make my first investment and when it paid off handsomely after only three months, I was hooked.

I worked together with my dad in the commercial real estate space in my first few years in the business. In 2008, I branched out on my own and started my own residential real estate team. Since then, our team has consistently been one of the top teams in the entire nation. In fact, our team has been named the #1 team in San Diego County four straight years by The Wall Street Journal.

Our team also puts a heavy emphasis on the usage of video marketing. We recently under the title of #1 Video Influencer in all of North America by BombBomb.com, a leading marketing platform provider.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being a real estate agent is a half real estate, half psychology. When helping people buy or sell the home of their dreams, emotions are going to run high. It is our job to manage those emotions for our clients throughout the process to make the experience as enjoyable as possible.

Please tell us about Whissel Realty Group.
We sell residential real estate across San Diego County. We currently have three offices including Santee, North Park and Carlsbad. These offices allow us to sell homes from the Mexico border all the way up into southern Orange and Riverside counties.

We are known for being on the bleeding edge of marketing which allows us to showcase our client’s homes in unique ways other agents can only dream of. A great example of this was when we debuted virtual reality goggles that allowed buyers to tour homes that one of our developers was building months before the homes were ever built. This helped the builder to sell their homes faster and the buyers to envision the finished homes long before they were completed.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memory was making the game-winning shot in a rec league basketball game. The rush of seeing the ball go in and the celebration that followed is something I will never forget. Ever since then, I have thrived on pressure situations like this.
