Meet Larinda Jungjohann

Today we’d like to introduce you to Larinda Jungjohann.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
Ever since I was a little girl I had a camera in my hand. I saw things others didn’t. I saw beauty in those that didn’t believe beauty existed within themselves. That’s where it all started, I wanted to help tell peoples stories by showing them through my work that they are beautiful. I never thought in a million years that this would grow into a business. Then one day, my husband got me my first Nikon Camera. I went camera crazy, asking friends and strangers if I could take their photos (for fun) and shooting weddings because I simply enjoyed doing them. I definitely wasn’t shy with a camera in my hand. During this time, my son Roman was born. It was a perfect time to grow and develop as a photographer because I had a full time model! What’s not to love about that? Once I started posting my work and receiving all the positive feedback, I started to recognize that this was the “best me” and there was no turning back. Then One day I decided to go for it. I decided to become Larinda Marie Photography. It was the best feeling. I also made a promise to myself that I would never do it just for the money. I wanted to help others that couldn’t afford a good photographer. Everyone deserves to have beautiful memories to cherish forever. A Photograph is simply a beautiful reminder that takes you back to those amazing feelings when it was first taken. Something that can never be forgotten or replaced. I love to talk to people and hear their stories. I love the fact that I get to be a part of all these special moments that each client wants to share with me all while having me capture their story through my eyes. It’s truly a blessing and I thank God every day for the path he has taken me on.

Please tell us about your art.
I’m a sucker for romance and every fairytale you can think of. When it comes to my artsy side, I like to use one of my favorite tools, THE SUN! The Sun is my best friend. Every sun spot, beam or haze creates the emotion that comes through each photograph. I like to add spots/strokes of light purple through each photo, giving them a more romantic fairytale feel. I enjoy using light purple because to me it compliments men and women without making the photo look too girly or too overdone. It also enhances any type of lighting, whether it’s early morning or late evening. I’m definitely not one to be too posy when it comes to taking the picture. I like to capture the moment verses me making the moment for them. Who’s with me? Don’t get me wrong, I love portraits but I love the photos where you capture life and not perfection. I hope when viewers look at my work, they feel as if they were somewhere far away or someplace magical. I want them to dream big when they see a photo that I’ve taken. I want the photo to help them with something in their near future. Something that will inspire them and others. Whether that’s to do a similar photoshoot, use the location for their next clients, or maybe even saving it because it just makes them smile.

Do you have any advice for other artists? Any lessons you wished you learned earlier?
Everyone learns photography in different ways. Me, I taught myself. I didn’t go to college for photography or business. I simply had a dream and made it happen. I took online classes and asked other photographers for advice. The best thing you can do to grow and find your own unique style is to practice. Have fun with it!! Get some families or couples that want to have their pictures taken and make it count. The best thing that worked for me which was actually terrifying was, posting my work and asking others what they thought. I wanted to know the good and the bad. Of course we are our own worst critics so you probably already have your mind made up but it helps to hear what others think too.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
You can view my work through all social media channels.[0]=68.ARDJzZoIGKJlXOCR7tSL_H1c_dZ6vkLNk63d2tAMLeT2GawYZiQ2XCA2u3Ksht9XCrTSkIviHFZYVXmpEErXQjEXBQQHyyBiIBmxPJfcBD5LF7X4NE6pcm0T1jfjC7KdalesMtw&timeline_context_item_type=intro_card_work&timeline_context_item_source=1841435611&fref=tag
