Meet Luci Lampe of Sexy Mama Movement in Ocean Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Luci Lampe.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was born in Lima, Peru and moved to the U.S. at a young age. I grew up in various states in the South and Midwest, passionately curious about music and fitness. At the core of everything I pursued in music and fitness, I thought what I wanted was to inspire others; but really, what I wanted most was to inspire myself and feel fully alive.

The undeniable urge to expand, learn, and grow took me down many paths. I studied both exercise science and music technology in college, where I also met my husband. Upon graduation, I had a husband and a 5-month-old baby girl.

Adding to my roles as wife and mother throughout the years, I explored fashion design for my stage outfits, won awards for my songwriting and singing, performed in front of Simon and Paula and thousands of others, started a business as an in-home personal trainer, became a print model, acted in commercials and short films, competed in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and became a transformational life and executive coach.

In 2014, I gave birth to our third daughter, and less than two months later, felt that undeniable pull to expand yet again and take another leap. The Sexy Mama Movement was birthed. What began as a resource for moms who want to feel sexy from the inside out became a must-known community for mom entrepreneurs who want to eliminate the overwhelm and live with true freedom.

Three books, multiple journals and planners, multiple transformational events and retreats, and a podcast with listeners in over 140 countries later… this Movement has become known for taking a bold stand for the hearts and lives of mom entrepreneurs.

Today, I continue to pour into this Movement, while once again pursuing my musical endeavors, training and challenging my body in new ways, and sharing the ketone conversation. Life as a mom, wife, and multi-passionate entrepreneur is not for the faint of heart.

I rely heavily on the various tools, habits, and practices I actively teach my clients, and on the heartfelt support of my husband and our kids. They are my WHY and the #1 reason I continuously commit myself to be, do, and expand, even when I don’t feel like it.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth path by any means. In our family, we’ve endured disability, depression, and bankruptcy.

The biggest challenge came in 2015 when my husband suffered a series of injuries and slipped into a 2-year depression. During that time, I developed an autoimmune condition from the stress and lack of self-care.

Not only did I feel like I’d lost my teammate and had to take care of him AND our four kids… I also had to figure out how to provide financially for our family of six working an average of just 12-15 hours a week, and find time to take care of myself.

This was my greatest pain and most challenging season, and forced me to make a decision to quit or persist and overcome. I chose the latter and grew as a woman and mother, and now teach those tools to my clients.

Sexy Mama Movement – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
The Sexy Mama Movement supports entrepreneurial moms with self-mastery and transformation, so they can cut through the overwhelm and experience a true sense of freedom across all areas of their lives.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment of my career could be a number of things, from writing features to awards. Deep down, however, by far what I’m the most proud of is the connection I’ve uncomfortably and relentlessly created with my husband and kids, in the midst of pursuing my career and interests.
