Today we’d like to introduce you to Luke Vinci.
Luke, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I got my start when I started mowing lawns at an early age. It taught me the basics of customer acquisition and customer service, taking pride in a job and making sure I followed through on my commitments.
Flash forward a decade or two… I hired a sales guy Byron Mignanelli off of Craigslist. I was running a different company at the time and he changed the way we did business. A few years later and a trip to Vegas representing someone else and we ended up business partners.
I think our big break was 2008. Most people look at this time with really negative feelings. As organizations were figuring out how to reduce expenses and downsize work forces or just survive our company wasn’t distracted by huge payrolls or what person to let go; we had a singular focus and that was to sell to whoever we could.
Going back to my youth I was always good with managing money and in tough times like 2008/2009 I became a pro at balancing cash flow with investing to assure we made more money. 2008 built our business on good financial values and providing quality service. There isn’t much more to a business.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No way! As mentioned when we started our business in 2008. But looking back it was the best time to start a business. We owned nothing. Nobody was hiring. We had nothing to lose. There was only one solution… SELL and WIN!
The stagnation of an economy that followed for 8 years was a rough road but we managed to produce growth every single year we have been in business. Our biggest hurdles have been positioning ourselves in industries that are emerging and growing at the right time, and finding the right people to build a good team.
We’ve been successful in doing both but always looking to find qualified candidates to join our team!

The accomplishment I value the most in our business is the entrepreneurial spirit we have instilled in others. We have had a series of employees that go on to start their own successful businesses. We like to think we’ve been a part of their education and helped get them to their goals.

It sounds cliché but we are a small group and feel the best way to win is to be connected to each of our customers and to always be hustling for more. In doing so we connect buyers with sellers at our trade shows and help transform organizations through transferring knowledge.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Persistent and Faith.
I don’t believe I am the smartest guy, or the most talented individual. But I do learn fast and I refuse to give up. Combine that with optimism and faith in God to see me through tough times I believe that is the foundation of my success.
