Today we’d like to introduce you to Lyndsey Winters.
Lyndsey, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I am professional hairstylist and makeup artist who has been in business since 2012. I specialize in many different beauty needs and desires. At first I believed that becoming a teacher was my calling because my nature of always wanting to help. I always would lend a hand with my friends and family for their beauty needs. This evolved into weddings where I noticed more of an impact of my work. I was in many weddings and noticed how amazing it was that one individual could influence another on their big day. This influence inspired me to pursue a career in beauty. Instead of making one moment special, I was compelled to recreate this feeling, not only for someone’s special day but, for every day and everyone. With the commitment to brightening their hair or just to brighten their day I will always put forth my best for the guest.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It was not the easiest roads to get to where I am today. I had to work two jobs to make sure my bills were paid, often with 17 to 18 hour work days. I was determined to make it work. I went through a few salons before finding the studio I am in now. Nothing felt right until now. I learned a lot of lessons on how I wanted my space to be and how I wanted to make my clients feel with their experience. I wanted to make it so that I would be able to touch many lives and help multiple people on their beauty needs. I’m grateful for the experiences and memories because they helped to shape me into the stylist I am today!
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Lyndsey Winters Beauty story. Tell us more about the business.
Today my passion runs as deep as the day I started and continues to grow. Constantly educating myself and consistently adding to my credentials within the industry. My expertise and certifications include: balayage, color melting, extensions, cutting, keratin complex smoothing treatments, as well as special event hair and makeup.
What makes me most proud of the company I have is how every one of my clients feels walking out the door. They look forward to seeing me and the experience they have as much as I look forward to seeing them. I feel I have created a fun but safe place for them to come and just relax.
What sets me apart from the other is the friendships I am able to create with the amazing guests I get to see every day. I look forward to coming into work every day and I feel it truly shows in my work.
I am also in love with braiding. Most of my clients will ask me to style their hair in a braid before they leave. I love finding new ones or creating my own. They inspire me to be creative. I am pretty in love you can make one softer for the client or they can be on the more dramatic side.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Luck has played in to my life and business mostly in the sense of timing. I think everything that has gotten me to this point has been based off timing. I think I have been lucky to have been in so many weddings myself that I was able to create and idea of my business and eventually followed through with it. Today I feel especially lucky to be able to wake up and be excited to go to work. I am grateful for the moments I first viewed as “bad luck” because they were the moments that helped me to grow and manifest the business I have today.
