Today we’d like to introduce you to Mallerly Quiroa.
Hi Mallerly, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Well, I had my son when I was 17 years old. Being a mom at such a young age is definitely a challenge especially when you’re trying to juggle all these things all at once. I then came up with this idea of wanting to sell press ons which had been something I’ve thought of doing for a very long time, just never had the money to get started. I finally decided to go after what I really wanted to do and so I did… I launched @thepressednailz on July 8, 2020
@thepressednailz is a press on nail business for 1/2 the salon price & time. I offer custom sets made to fit your specific nail beds through sizing kits. All sets come with an application kit and are available in different shapes/lengths to ensure that every customer gets exactly what they love.
@thepressednailz is a dream that I brought to reality and have built from the ground up! Though I’m not exactly where I would want to be I’m still very proud of myself for never giving up. Everyone’s timing is different and I’m very confident that one day I will get to where I want to be. I cannot wait to see where it takes me as the CEO/Owner.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has never been a smooth road nor do I ever think it will be. So much unknown knowledge from pricing, product knowledge, marketing and the list can go on and on. I’m a self-taught Nail Artist and not only have I spent hours researching, reviewing new products, practicing new designs and techniques but there has also been sweat and tears along this journey. It was a rough start for me from learning how to do everything myself and everything being very pricey. One thing I know for sure is that everything I had to go through to get to where I am today was well worth it !! Every time I get a new client or even a returning client, it shows that all my hard work has paid off.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I make quality press on nails for 1/2 the salon price. If I asked my clients what I’m known for they’d probably say my nail designs. I’m very much still learning but I think I’ve done an amazing job since I have never gotten a complaint. Nail art is very stressful but also very rewarding once you’ve seen the set come to life.
I’m most proud of my growth as a business owner. Creating and running a business alone from the ground up is very challenging every day and is something not everyone could handle so to say I’m still standing here stronger than ever is something I’m most proud of.
Something that sets me apart from others would have to be my customer service skills. I am with you every step of the way to make sure you get your dream set. I take pride in making sure every customer feels welcomed and heard, that they get everything they wanted out of their experience with me. At the end of the day, not only did they walk out with a big smile on their face but so did I knowing I did my part.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
Risk taking to me doesn’t necessarily have to be something out of the extraordinary so something I did that I’d consider risk-taking would have to be stepping out of my comfort zone by joining pop up events, socializing with customers & joining meetings that’s something my old self would have never done !!
