Meet Marcello Moro of Altitude Helicopters in Brown Field Municipal Airport

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marcello Moro.

Marcello, together with his brother Simone, transformed a passion into a business. Born and raised in Italy he had an extensive experience in different fields in the international management. Flying was just a passion, until when he started to fly professionally in different environments and geographical areas around the world. After gaining a remarkable experience in Africa, Europe and especially Nepal he realized that sharing his knowledge and make good use of his rating as a flight instructor. Teaching was a passion and a way of giving back. After some time he decided that he wanted more out of it and decided to open another branch, this time in the US and dedicated to flight instruction.

Altitude Helicopters is a family business, founded in 1994 in Italy, that has quickly become an international venture, expanding its activities and exploring areas of business and geographically different environments.

The opening of a flight school in the U.S. is only the latest chapter of the story of the two brother’s project, but possibly the most exciting so far. Training, carrying their experience and sharing their passion for future pilots is a tremendous responsibility and a great opportunity for them.

Last chapter is a brand new branch northern in San Luis Obispo – CA. Another flight school, another great opportunity to raise the future of helicopter aviation.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Marcello is used to challenges…he lived in Ghana, Australia, Nepal…to name a few. Moving to America was easier than moving to more challenging environment like Nepal, but still you need to learn rules, regulations, habits, and make the right choices based on the little you know about the new Country you are settling in. As a newcomers was not easy to gain respect and trust but after 3 years we are seeing that we are gaining more and more confidence from customers and students. There are always doubt, bad periods, difficulties…still now, but if you are confident in yourself, you have skills and knowledge, you are committed and work hard, it always pays off.
