Meet Mark Bsaibes and Sarah Crow of Craft and Spice Catering Company in La Jolla

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mark Bsaibes and Sarah Crow.

Craft and Spice is a company started by two former culinary school classmates, Mark and Sarah. Mark’s family has been in the restaurant business since moving to San Diego from Lebanon in the 90’s. He has always wanted to expand into catering and knew Sarah would be the right person to help him do it. With their combined experience from the Culinary Institute of America, they opened Craft and Spice Catering Co.

Together, they have created an incredible menu influenced by craft ingredients, the latest trends and personal favorites. They like to take traditional family recipes and put a modern spin on it. Today, Craft and Spice focuses on providing fresh, delicious and high-quality food to its customers.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Since Mark’s family already owns a few restaurants, it has been fairly simple to open Craft and Spice. Of course, there are always a few bumps in the road. There’s a slight panic when you receive your first order but it’s mostly exciting to see your business grow and become successful. It takes a little practice to work out the kinks, like it is with any business. But once you figure it out, it’s so worth it. We are very proud of what we have built and excited to see how it continues to grow.

We like to take traditional family recipes and put a modern spin on it. We like to focus on delivering quality food to your business, home, event, etc… We hope to provide something different than your average sandwich tray. Our food is homemade and all of our ingredients are handpicked by both Mark and Sarah. Every single one of our recipes were happily tested and tweaked by family and friends. We are most proud of our repeat customers because it shows how much they enjoyed what we made for them.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We are hoping to grow as a company and be able to take on larger events. Now we focus on delivery and pick up, but we hope to eventually be able to cater weddings and events.
