Today we’d like to introduce you to McLain Harvey.

McLain, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Starting in my garage and boot-strapping the business with little to nothing, we have grown Pixster into what is now one of the largest non-franchised photo booth rental companies in the country. The company started with a vision to transform photo booth rentals into a seamless experience for both clients and users.

We specialize in weddings, corporate events, formals, and parties and are continually striving to set ourselves apart through an exceptional customer service experience, high-quality photo booths, unique services, and competitive pricing. Pixster has a history and goal of providing outstanding service and we offer customers a seamless experience with added services not typically provided by similar companies.

This year we celebrated our 5 year anniversary! We are blown away looking back at all of our accomplishments over the past 5 years. Pixster has serviced over 6000 events, taken over 3 million photos and had over 800 thousand people use our booth. The numbers just keep increasing and we’re so proud of our team who has helped make Pixster what it is today.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
For the most part, we have been very blessed to have a great business and a smooth journey. That being said, there have been ups and downs along the way. Since we are still operating very much like a startup, the rate of growth and changes are rapid. From one photo booth in my garage to over 50 booths in 4 markets, the processes and norms change almost daily. With the rapid changes come, what at times seems like, insurmountable challenges. Change is never easy, and change-management is even harder. Employees have come and gone and it is always sad when another page turns for the company.

Pixster Photo Booths is the premier photo booth rental company in San Diego, Orange County, Los Angeles, Phoenix, and Austin. We provide a first class experience to all of our customers and ensure that we go above and beyond to meet the needs of even the most discerning bride. Through customizable packages, the most technologically advanced photo booths, low profile designs, professional staff, and transparent pricing we pride ourselves on delivering an exceptional product.

Pixster offers customers a seamless experience with added services not typically provided by similar companies. One such service is our open-air booth which allows our users the opportunity to fit up to 15 people in a picture, create customized backgrounds, and instantly Instagram, Facebook, Tweet, or Email their photos.

With 3 million photos, you would think we would get sick of taking pictures! Well, that’s where you’re mistaken. We can’t get enough of the photo booth business and we’re still improving ways of taking the best photos possible! Last year we upgraded our flash diffusers and created a 180-degree gif photo booth in-house. This year we’re building cleaner, sleeker, faster booths and taking our 180-degree gif photo booth to the next level with a 9 camera array!

We’re constantly improving the way we take photos every day. After 5 years in the business, we love staying ahead of the trend and delivering exactly what our customers want!
